Terms of Use

Effective Date: October 25, 2026

Welcome to Granite Point Software. These Terms of Use govern access to granitepointsoftware.com and the use of information, software products, plugins, downloads, and related services provided by Granite Point Software.

Please review these Terms before using our website or obtaining our software. Use of our website constitutes acceptance of these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Software obtained through third-party platforms, including WordPress.org, remains subject to its applicable software license and any separately accepted terms. Nothing in these Terms overrides or restricts rights granted under an applicable open-source license.

Our Products

Granite Point Software develops and distributes WordPress plugins and other software products designed to enhance website functionality, usability, security, and management.

Our products may be offered in Free, Pro, or other paid editions. Features, pricing, licensing arrangements, activation requirements, and support may vary by product.

Specific product details are described on the applicable product pages, documentation, and checkout screens.

We reserve the right to improve, modify, update, or discontinue products and features, subject to applicable purchase agreements and legal obligations.

Free Software

Granite Point Software may offer software products at no charge, including Free editions of our plugins.

Free software may be distributed directly through our website or through third-party platforms, including WordPress.org.

Features, functionality, licensing, and availability vary by product and are described in the applicable product documentation.

Free software is provided without any guarantee of continued availability, maintenance, compatibility, or future updates, except where expressly provided or required by law.

Paid Software and Licensing

Granite Point Software may offer paid software products with different licensing arrangements, activation requirements, prices, and usage limitations.

All applicable pricing, license duration, permitted activations, renewal requirements, and other product-specific conditions are described on the relevant product page or during checkout.

Certain paid features or related services may require a valid, active license. Deactivation, expiration, or invalidation of a license may affect access to those features or services as described in the applicable product terms.

A lifetime license, where offered, refers to the licensing arrangement specified for that product. Unless expressly stated otherwise, it does not guarantee indefinite maintenance, updates, support, or continued availability of related third-party services.

Commercial licensing arrangements do not restrict rights granted under applicable open-source software licenses.

Payments

Payments for paid products are handled through our designated third-party payment processors.

Applicable prices, taxes, payment methods, and transaction terms are presented during checkout.

Purchases are subject to the applicable checkout terms and purchase agreements.

Payment processing providers may have separate terms of service and privacy policies.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled according to our published Refund Policy, applicable purchase agreements, and any rights provided by law.

Refund eligibility, conditions, and applicable refund periods are described in the Refund Policy or applicable product-specific purchase terms.

Please review the Refund Policy before making a purchase.

Software Compatibility and User Responsibilities

Our software is developed for the platforms and environments identified in the applicable product documentation.

Software functionality may be affected by WordPress versions, third-party plugins, themes, hosting configurations, server settings, operating environments, updates, and other software or services.

Users are responsible for evaluating whether software is appropriate for their intended use and technical environment.

Users are also responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of their websites, databases, files, and configurations before installing, updating, configuring, or removing software.

We recommend testing new software and significant updates in a staging environment before deploying them to a production website.

Although Granite Point Software makes reasonable efforts to develop reliable and compatible software, we cannot guarantee operation in every environment or configuration.

Support and Updates

Technical support is available through our Contact Us page or by emailing support@granitepointsoftware.com.

Support availability, eligibility, and services may vary depending on the product and applicable licensing arrangements.

We may provide software updates to improve functionality, address defects, strengthen security, or maintain compatibility.

The availability, frequency, and duration of updates or technical support are not guaranteed unless expressly stated in the applicable product terms or required by law.

Intellectual Property and Software Licensing

The Granite Point Software name, branding, website graphics, and original website content are owned by Granite Point Software or used with permission.

Our software products may be distributed under open-source licenses, including the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Software distributed under an open-source license remains subject to that license, including its applicable warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability.

Nothing in these Terms restricts rights granted under applicable open-source software licenses.

Commercial license activation, access to paid features, updates, and related services remain subject to applicable purchase and licensing arrangements, without limiting rights provided under an open-source license.

Demonstration Content

Sample articles, demonstration authors, and example content displayed on our website are provided to demonstrate software functionality.

Such content should not be interpreted as actual company publications, professional advice, or representations of real individuals unless expressly identified otherwise.

Acceptable Website Use

You agree not to use our website in ways that are unlawful, compromise security, disrupt services, interfere with other visitors, or violate applicable laws.

This section governs use of our website and does not restrict rights granted under applicable open-source software licenses.

Software Provided “As Is”

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GRANITE POINT SOFTWARE PROVIDES ITS WEBSITE, PLUGINS, SOFTWARE PRODUCTS, DOWNLOADS, AND RELATED SERVICES “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, EXCEPT WHERE EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN APPLICABLE PRODUCT TERMS OR REQUIRED BY LAW.

  • Operate without interruption or errors.
  • Be compatible with every installation, plugin, theme, hosting provider, or server configuration.
  • Prevent every security vulnerability, unauthorized access attempt, or website compromise.
  • Prevent all data loss, website errors, performance problems, or service interruptions.
  • Meet every user’s particular requirements or expectations.

No software can guarantee complete compatibility, uninterrupted operation, or absolute security in every environment.

Assumption of Risk

Installing, configuring, updating, or using software involves inherent technical risks, including compatibility conflicts, website errors, downtime, data loss, security vulnerabilities, and unexpected behavior.

Users acknowledge these risks and are responsible for taking reasonable precautions, including maintaining current backups, keeping their environments appropriately maintained, and evaluating compatibility before installing or updating software.

Users remain responsible for the operation, maintenance, security, and recovery procedures of their own websites and hosting environments.

Exclusion of Certain Damages

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GRANITE POINT SOFTWARE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, OUR WEBSITE, SOFTWARE, PLUGINS, OR RELATED SERVICES.

These exclusions apply whether or not Granite Point Software was advised of the possibility of such damages, subject to applicable law.

Maximum Financial Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GRANITE POINT SOFTWARE’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO A PARTICULAR PRODUCT OR SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY THE CLAIMANT FOR THAT PRODUCT OR SERVICE.

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES TO FREE AND PAID SOFTWARE AND TO CLAIMS ARISING UNDER CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, OTHER TORT THEORIES, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

This limitation includes claims for direct damages, website repair or restoration expenses, data recovery costs, and other financial losses, except where such limitations are prohibited by applicable law.

For software provided free of charge, the amount paid is zero. This provision is intended to limit liability accordingly, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Exceptions and Applicable Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or other conduct to the extent that such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, limits, or waives any warranty, remedy, consumer protection, or other right that cannot legally be excluded, limited, or waived.

Where applicable law prevents enforcement of a particular disclaimer or liability limitation, that provision shall apply only to the maximum extent legally permitted.

Open-Source Software

Software distributed under the GNU General Public License or another applicable open-source license remains subject to that license’s warranty disclaimers, liability provisions, and other terms.

These website Terms do not replace or modify the applicable open-source software license.

Users who obtain software directly from WordPress.org or another third-party platform retain the rights and obligations provided by the software’s accompanying license, regardless of whether they visit the Granite Point Software website.

Changes to These Terms

Granite Point Software may update these Terms of Use as our products, services, or legal requirements change.

Revised terms will be published on this page with an updated effective date.

Changes apply prospectively to the extent permitted by law. Existing purchases and agreements remain subject to applicable contractual rights, and updated terms do not automatically replace previously agreed terms where additional consent is legally required.
